Tub is a cool black gelding that belongs to a family member that we trade help with. He has been a good ranch horse his whole life. He's gone to town to a lot of ranch rodeos too. He's a good one. On this day we were branding calves on a beautiful spring day and Tub was enjoying his job. Everyone should be lucky enough to have one like him.
This is four of our ranch geldings, Raspberry, Turbo, Chili and Blondie. They were all gathered around the water tank one afternoon, just drinking, playing in the water and relaxing on a lazy afternoon.

This drawing is of Matt Mori and Jay Black, two really good Nevada cowboys, airing out their horse's back and re-setting their saddles after a long day of helping us brand calves at the Eden Valley homestead. The peak in the background is called Soldier's Cap.

This is Jake "Nevada Jack" Brennan, winning the Ranch Bronc Rideoff at McDermitt Ranch Rodeo on a Wally and Teola Blossom bronc that Wally called Six Shooter.
This is a picture of my husband Frank on a young horse that we called Barney. I originally bought Barney for myself, but we both liked him and we argued and horse traded around until he ended up with him. He out-traded me that time! Barney wanted to buck a little for awhile, but Frank put him to work on the the ranch and the two of them put in lot of long hot days and wet saddle blankets. He made a really nice horse, good to rope on, with lots of cow.
Keno is the real deal-a big strong ranch raised gelding that earns his living on the wide open high desert of Nevada. On the day I saw him and took the reference photo that I drew this picture from, the C Punch cowboys had found and gathered some remnant cattle to a small corral around a windmill a long ways from anywhere, where they branded and weaned the calves and turned the cows back out. Keno was standing hobbled outside of the corral while his rider loaded the calves into the stock truck for the long ride back to the ranch. He first caught my eye because he looked a lot like one of my husband’s horses. Turned out he and my husband’s horse were both raised on the same ranch, and most likely brothers.
